Nearly one hundred students have attended the certificate delivery ceremony. The certificate ceremony was attended by Mr. Say Kimhorn, the school principal of Srokstoung International School, Mr. Keo Chea, an IT manager, Mr. Chun Senchumno, a student representative, as well as teachers.
Mr. Keo Chea said during his opening remarks to the students the importance of English language use in technological skills especially the role of English language in researching skills in the field of technology.
After, Mr. Keo Chea’s opening remarks, Mr. Chun Senchumno also shared his experience on how to become a better English learner. From his personal experience, he shared three tips with students on how to learn English better: Listening to teacher attentively, autonomous learning or self-directed learning, and doing homework and attending class regularly. He ended his speech by encouraging our students to try to study hard through self-study.
After great speeches from our speakers, our ceremony ended with a certificate delivery delivered by our school principal and photos on stage.       
 

Seeing that most of our students have their own potential to learn English well, SROKSTOUNG International School has created a programme called “Top Reader Programme”. This programme aims to train students to read English texts accurately, fluently, and beautifully.


Our potential students from different classes are encouraged to join this programme to sharpen their English reading skill. After selected, they are provided a proper training within a period of time with our professional trainers, and then given a chance to read English texts in front of their classmates and teachers with a video recording.   


We are amazed to see that our students can read English text accurately, fluently, and with ease.   
    

Presentation skills include everything you need to execute each stage of a speech effectively. A great presentation needs to be well-organised, engaging, and relevant.


To help develop students’ presentation skills, SROKSTOUNG International School has designed a curriculum that allows every single student to have a chance to speak English in front of the audience. They are required to do this presentation in a group of three or four or they are required to do it individually. At the same time, they learn how to do research on the topics given and make presentation slides.


Furthermore, students are delighted to have their video recorded and posted on social medias such as on Facebook or school’s website as this video will prove their parents and themselves that they are able to speak English after learning English for a few years.      

Not many students enjoy public speaking. Yet, it is even harder for them to speak publicly in front of a crowd using English. To help develop students’ public speaking to speak without fear ahead of a huge group of people, SROKSTOUNG International School has created a programme called “Presentation” which allows them to speak confidently and fearlessly.
Additionally, this programme permits students to enhance their research, critical thinking, and technology skills.
Every single term, students are set to do this presentation individually under the topic and time provided. Prior to the main presentation day, students are given a choice to decide whether they want to do a presentation with a video recording or not. However, students who are video recorded during their presentation have an opportunity to build even more confidence when they speak in front of the camera.

What is a Top Reader Programme at SROKSTOUNG International School?
Top Reader Programme is a programme which trains students to read English texts fluently, accurately, and beautifully. Also, this programme enables students to read English texts confidently ahead of the audience.
Each term, potential students from different classes are encouragingly asked to join this training programme. After selected, they are provided a training with professional and skillful teachers within a certain period of time. Whilst training, they are required to read a wide range of English texts both short and long ones to ensure that they become fluent and accurate English readers.
After the training, each of them is given a chance to read an English text publicly by standing on the podium with a video recording.

In English, there are four macro skills, one of which is reading skill. At Srokstoung International School, reading skill has been the central focus of the school. Therefore, it is vitally important to teach students to be able to read English. Reading texts in English can be challenging for children; however, with care, encouragement and assistance of teachers, they can learn to read texts in English effectively.

What is presentation? Why is it so important? Presentations are a fantastic way to contribute to English language learning experience. This skill has become so popular for further education and in future careers.
Here at SROKSTOUNG International School, our General English Programme (GEP) incorporates this skill into all of our levels. Every term, students are set to do it individually with an assigned topic. Our presentation topics include: Sports, Language, Agriculture, Environment, Education, and Philosophy.       
This skill also enables students to improve their critical thinking skills, communication skills, and build confidence. It also helps students learn how to research the topics, make slides, and practice all language areas and skills through delivering a presentation in English.

Now the school is accepting the new enrollment for term II….. Students can visit the school campus and sit for the placement test prepared by the school, and they will be placed in their right levels based on their results of the test.

Our Top Reader Programme is designed with the goals of developing our students’ reading ability and reducing their nervousness when reading publicly. The programme enables students to read fluently, accurately, beautifully, and confidently.
Each term, students from different classes and with enough capability of reading are selected and trained for the whole term with our qualified trainers and effective instructional materials to ensure that they will be able to read fluently, accurately, beautifully and confidently at the end of the training programme.
At the end of our training programme, they are required to stand on the podium and read publicly.
